Active Power Investments LLC (“API”) is a financial market participant in North American Independent System Operator (“ISO”) wholesale electric power as well as natural gas markets, generally acting as a liquidity provider. API is engaged in a variety of activities in electric power and natural gas trading, market analysis, trading tools development, risk management, and back-office processing. API is seeking candidates interested in a career in the field of Software Engineering for commodity markets.
The Role:
As a software engineer at API, you will join a team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the software solutions used by API to analyze energy markets, develop and execute trade strategies, and support the firm in various business functions.

This role is for remote work and requires collaboration with others during eastern US working hours. Occasional evening or weekend work may be also required. This role is offered on a contract basis with compensation that includes a base/retainer as well as performance incentives.

You love developing line-of-business software and seek an opportunity to design and develop complex software solutions from scratch. At the same time, you are a mature programmer who is good at maintaining software originally developed by others. You are very dedicated to software quality. You enjoy intellectual challenges. You are capable of learning and fully understanding previously unfamiliar complex business domains. You are interested in working for an energy trading company.
You should have:
